What is Roullete?

Roullete, or Roulette, is a casino game that offers glamour, mystery, and excitement. It’s also a game that can be very simple to understand and yet offer an unexpected level of depth for serious bettors who use the correct strategy.

Fanciful stories claim that the game was invented by 17th-century French mathematician Blaise Pascal or by a Dominican monk, but the truth is that it evolved from older games like hoca and portique into its modern form in France about 1790. The modern roulette wheel has thirty-six compartments painted alternately red and black and numbered from 1 to 36. Two green compartments on the American-style wheel carry the signs 0 and 00.

A standard roulette table can seat seven players, although a dual-sized table with two wheels allows two groups to play simultaneously. The table surface is covered with a number grid that outlines the wheel numbers and various other betting options.

Unlike other casino games, roulette chips have no value away from the table. When you’re ready to leave the game, place all your roulette chips on the table and tell the dealer that you’d like to cash out. The dealer will then give you normal casino chips in exchange. In the meantime, your winning bets will remain up for grabs on the next spin. This is a feature that helps prevent cheating, and it’s why the house edge for roulette is not as high as in some other casino games.
